Leading British ventilation manufacturer Vent-Axia is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s prestigious Housebuilder Product Awards 2014. The Sussex-based company is celebrating its award-winning Lo-Carbon Solo Plus centrifugal bathroom/toilet fan reaching the final in the Best Kitchen and Bathroom Product of the Year category. Meanwhile, Vent-Axia’s Lo-Carbon Response™ dMEV solution has been nominated within the Best Brand New Product of the Year category.
The winners in each category will be announced at the Housebuilder Product Awards’ lunchtime ceremony, at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham on Wednesday 2nd July 2014. The ceremony will commence with a drinks reception followed by a three course lunch and the Awards presentation. The Housebuilder Products Awards will bring together key personnel from across the industry with Awards themselves being judged by a panel of industry experts.

Within the Best Kitchen and Bathroom Product of the Year category the Housebuilder judges picked the popular Lo-Carbon Solo Plus for their final line up. The new and improved Lo-Carbon Solo Plus was launched following a re-design of the company’s popular Solo Plus range, which is used widely in the social housing market. Key advances of the new Lo-Carbon Solo Plus include enhanced aesthetics, a rise in efficiency levels, a reduction in sound levels and an improvement in ease of installation and maintenance.
Specifically developed for through the wall and ducted applications, the Lo-Carbon Solo Plus fan is suitable for internal bathrooms, toilets and other small rooms.
Offering up to 70% energy saving when compared to traditional intermittent fans the Lo-Carbon Solo Plus range boasts reduced sound level from 46dBA to 33dBA – a significant reduction.
The Lo-Carbon Solo Plus also features Vent-Axia’s pioneering ‘datalogger’, designed to help landlords avoid damage to their housing stock through condensation and mould by logging a fan’s daily use. In addition, another ingenious development to the Solo Plus range, is the fan’s new innovative centrifugal backward curved impeller which means that the Lo-Carbon Solo Plus is filter-less, reducing the need for maintenance, thus impacting on cost – a crucial factor in social housing.
Meanwhile, within the Best New Product category judges selected the pioneering Lo-Carbon Response™ for their shortlist. Packed with innovative features the Response is a near silent, continuous running, constant volume dMEV solution. Designed for both new build and the social housing sector, the SAP Appendix Q listed Response is ideal for both kitchen and bathroom applications.
Providing excellent pressure while still maintaining high energy efficiency, the Response features a unique digital display that confirms airflow and system pressure of the installed product. This helps housebuilders comply with Building Regulations, plus saves time and money on site by speeding up commissioning.
Offering an affordable high pressure ventilation solution which is more cost-effective and efficient than a comparable centrifugal fan the Response features a new silent higher pressure axial impellor. As a result, the Response can meet the high pressure requirements of many domestic installations without the need to use a centrifugal fan, a first. In addition, similar to the Lo-Carbon Solo Plus, the Response also features the innovative datalogger helping landlords protect homes from condensation and mould.
