Vent Axia has great pleasure in announcing it has been shortlisted for Best Marketing Campaign in the Electrical Wholesaler Awards for its Silent Fan Campaign. This highly successful campaign, which has increased sales of the Silent Fan by 75%, was voted into the awards shortlist by electrical wholesalers from across the UK.

The revolutionary Vent-Axia Silent Fan is a silent intermittent bathroom fan. Boasting the lowest sound rating on the market, due to the motor and unique impeller design and operating at just 16dB(A), the Silent Fan is the quietest ever intermittent bathroom and toilet fan - a significant 75% improvement over typical intermittent bathroom fans.

New for 2014, the inaugural Electrical Wholesaler Awards is designed to recognise the achievements of electrical wholesalers and manufacturers. The winners of the electrical wholesaler categories are selected by a team of judges. Meanwhile the winners of the manufacturer categories are determined by votes from electrical wholesalers via a secure online voting system. Winners for all categories will be announced at a sumptuous gala dinner and awards ceremony at the Tower Hotel, St Katharine’s Way, London, on May 20th 2014.

Jenny Smith, Marketing Services Manager, at Vent Axia is particularly delighted that Vent Axia’s Silent Fan campaign has reached the shortlist thanks to electrical wholesaler votes:

“We are delighted the Silent Fan campaign has been shortlisted as a finalist at the Electrical Wholesaler Awards 2014 in the category of ‘Best Marketing Campaign’. These awards are decided by the votes of Electrical Wholesalers – so to be shortlisted means our core customers have been voting for the Silent Fan campaign! This is great recognition and support for our innovative Silent Fan and shows that the campaign has had an impact on the Electrical Wholesalers throughout the UK.”

Vent-Axia’s Silent Fan campaign was based on Market Research it commissioned to understand the opinions of both electricians and home owners in relation to the sound levels of bathroom fans. The research showed that a silent home is highly valued with 55% of respondents citing fan noise as the most annoying thing in the bathroom.

The research also told Vent Axia that on average, home owners would be willing to pay up to £50 more for the Vent-Axia Silent Fan once they had heard it in comparison to other fans. However, the research also revealed that people would not believe how quiet the fan was until they heard it for themselves.

As a result Vent-Axia developed a creative campaign focusing on the message ‘You have to hear it to believe it’. This included Vent Axia designing and producing a counter top display unit with a working fan for display in Electrical Wholesalers. The idea behind the demonstration unit was to let electricians hear how quiet the Silent Fan is, which would then give them confidence to recommend the fans to their customers.

Alongside the counter display Vent Axia developed: A Silent Fan Microsite; Trade Adverts; Counter Top Product Display; A1 Ceiling Hanging Posters; A4 2 sided Leaflets; Product Information Display Card, as well as running a PR campaign on the Silent Fan.
